The New Skoda Octavia RS/ Octavia Combi RS, third generation, will be displayed at GoodWood Festival of Speed starting 10th of July. The new Skoda Octavia RS is perfect combination of sportiness, space and functionality with more performance, lower fuel consumption and fewer emissions as Skoda said.

Today Skoda revealed the features and specifications of the new Skoda Octavia RS/ Octavia Combi RS. The new Octavia RS comes with its own uniqueness. Nearly everything for new octavia is newly developed and designed.

Engine

The new Skoda Octavia RS is powered by engine with two options. One is 2.0 TSI-petrol engine that will generate maximum power of 220 HP that will make the new octavia to attain top speed of 248 Km/h and car can attain speed of 0 to 100 Km/h in just 6.8 seconds. The other option is 2.0 TDI-diesel engine with maximum power of 184 HP and can make the car to run at top speed of  232 Km/h and take 8.1 seconds to reach 100 Km/h. Both the variants come with six-speed manual gearbox as standard and DSG Dual Clutch Transmission as option for both the engines.
The new Skoda Octavia RS will produce more power and fewer emissions with consumption of 19% less fuel as compared to second generation of Skoda Octavia RS.

Handling

The new skoda octavia RS is optimized for better handling with installation of sports suspension as basic standard. In addition, Skoda used multi-link axle on the rear axle and MacPherson strut with underlying triangle wishbone for precise track guidance. For better traction of the wheels and reduction of understeer in fast corner, Skoda installed Electronic Differential Lock XDS integrated into electronic stability control system as baisc standard of the new Skoda Octavia RS.
The new electro-mechanical progressive steering system is used for driver comfortableness on handling. This type of steering system make the car to turn about desired radius with smaller movements of steering wheel.

Design

 

New Octavia Combi RS

 

The new Octavia RS is designed with full efforts considering speed and class (sporty look). The body has been lowered by 12 mm and increased length of octavia RS by 88 mm and 86 mm of Octavia Combi RS. Skoda also made the octavia wider by 45 mm. The new Octavia have perfect look from all views.

Front view of new Skoda Octavia RS give strong sporty look with SKODA front grille sporting the RS badge, distinguished honeycomb air intakes, New RS-style front bumper, new style fog lights and bi-xenon headlights featuring LED daytime running lights.

Side look:

The wheelbase of the car has been lowered by 102 mm. Skoda designed three different sizes of light alloy wheels. Dorado 17 inch alloys with 225/45 tyres as standard. The car will also come with 18 inch Gemini and Pictoris alloys (with 225/40 tyres) as first option. These 18 inch Gemini alloys will be available in silver and anthracite colours. And those who want the new octavia to look more sporty then 19 inch Xtrem in black color will be available as second option.

Strong black diffuser and wide reflector spotlight are fitted at the lower section of the new octavia RS. You will see two large trapezoidal-shaped chrome exhaust tailpipes at the rear part of the car. Rear lights are in brand's typical shape with integrated LED technology.

Interior

Sporty and Black interior will also make you love the car. The new RS-design sports seats for both driver and passengers are installed. To give more sporty feel Skoda designed 3-spoke steering wheel with perforated leather for its new octavia RS and the other interiors have their own uniqueness specially developed for this new octavia RS.

Space:

 

 

By increased length and width, more space is provided which make another difference in third generation octavia RS and second generation of octavia RS. The car offers more interior length (+1.782 mm), more legroom (73 mm) and more headroom in the back (980 mm). Boot space is also increased to 590 litres by 5 litres in Octavia RS and to 610 litres in Octavia Combi RS.

Safety Features

Skoda kept better safety in mind and provided features for the safety of driver and passengers while driving the new octavia RS. Safety system is consist of nine air bags for better safety of driver and passengers, Front Assistant with city emergency braking, Lane Assistant to keep you on track, Multi-Collision Braking, Crew Protect Assistant to protect the vehicle under accident conditions and the Driver Activity Assistant for driver's fatigue detection.

Optional Features

The new Octavia RS also offers other features as option on request. Optional features includes Adaptive Cruise Assistant, Intelligent Light Assistant which automatically switches light between high beam and low beam, Automatic Parking Assistant, Road Sign Detections, Keyless Entry Start and Exit System is also available, Electric Panoramic Sunroof, Infotainment Radio and Navigation and CANTON Sound System for pleasure of listening music.
